Sue Miles is not a trained artist.... as she would put it ,"I used to have a proper job" but following the birth of her daughter, and subsequently being house bound, she fell back on a passion... drawing. At first for friends and family... but quickly it grew into a little business. After moving to Kent, and renting a small seaside 'lock up' shop things took off and soon her images where for sale worldwide. Sue has spent a lifetime of hoarding all things furry and squeaky, wet or slimey (much to her parents disgust) but today the herd has been reduced down to three cats, a large european eagle owl, one dumbo rat, a pond full of fish and 'The pony' (a 15.3hh andalucian) Horses have always been a passion.. and many hours where spent as a child at the local riding school mucking out endlessly in the hope of two minutes on a horses back.... like many horse loving little girls of that generation ! The hope was always that a pony would turn up grazing on the back lawn on christmas morning, as it was, Santa had no such plans, and she bought her first horse at 26 years of age... since then she has always had one or two hanging about... and now its just 'Druida' (and his funny foreign ways, Bless 'im) Being an 'old 'bird now at fiftysomething, any notions of competing at Badminton have long since disappeared and more likely than not Dru and Sue are to be found wandering around (usually lost) in Angmering Park singing hideous old songs (Dru grunts and moans along... usually in better tune than Sue) looking for deer, and squirrel spotting. The Spanish horses have always been a favorite for their elegance, kindness, power and agility (the long flowing manes had nothing to do with it) and they created the first inspiration to draw. Today, apart from still loving drawing for clients, Sue has plans to draw a whole series of more 'Arty' spanish horse images.... just for fun. The Artist .... Sue Miles
